Our Beliefs

At TAVS, we believe that every child deserves to be seen, valued, and supported across all environments home, school, and community.

We believe children are capable, curious, and full of potential, and they learn best through play, relationships, and meaningful experiences.

We believe families are children’s first and most important teachers, and their knowledge, culture, and lived experiences must be honoured and respected.

We believe that supporting children is a shared responsibility, and that educators, schools, families, and community partners all play an essential role in helping children thrive.

We also believe that early learning is strengthened through the BC Early Learning Framework, which supports the development of the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and culturally and builds strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Our Approach

At TAVS, our approach is holistic, relational, and community-centred. We focus on building meaningful connections between children, families, schools, and community partners to ensure children are supported across all environments.

We recognize that children do not exist within one system — they move between home, school, and community. Because of this, we work to strengthen the relationships and systems that surround them, ensuring care and support are consistent, connected, and collaborative.

Our work is guided by the belief that children thrive when they are at the centre of shared responsibility. Through partnership, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice, we aim to reduce barriers, build trust, and create environments where every child feels a strong sense of belonging.

While early learning is one part of our work, our approach extends beyond any single program. TAVS exists to support the broader ecosystem around children helping communities work together in ways that are intentional, respectful, and child-centred.

Our Commitment

TAVS is committed to strengthening communities by working alongside families, schools, and community partners to support children and youth in meaningful, connected ways.

We are dedicated to ensuring that children remain at the centre of every decision that impacts them, and that families feel supported, respected, and included across all environments.

As we grow, we remain focused on building trust, reducing barriers, and fostering collaboration that leads to stronger systems of care for children and families.

At TAVS, we are not defined by one program or one space we are defined by our commitment to care, connection, and community.
